Course Functional Neuroanatomy
If you want to understand the human brain, the Functional Neuroanatomy intensive course is the best option!
The Functional Neuroanatomy course will make you feel more confident and critical when reading neuroscientific literature.
The course was well received. 12 students have attended all the lectures (15) and practicals. Especially the extended practical of 3.5 hour at the Anatomy Department was a very exciting event. I have done a so-called blunt dissection of major fiber tracts in the brain and fortunately the brain was well fixed so it became a great success. Such demonstrations improve the stereotactic insight of students and that is exactly what I want: Get a three dimensional understanding of the human brain. This is very important for interpreting images obtained by MRI, PET, DTI etc. The students have obtained a solid basis for future research on the human brain. Moreover, we have placed the human neuroanatomy in a broader perspective by a lecture about evolutionary aspects.

Workshop on “Careers in Neuroscience”
I very much enjoyed interacting with the Neurasmus students. We had a very stimulating discussion regarding career paths in neuroscience, and the need for diversity, equity and inclusion within modern academia. After my formal lecture, we also had a candid discussion about the challenges of developing a truly translational neuroscience research program. Overall, I was very impressed with the students’ engagement with the subject matter, and passion for science.
