I would forever be grateful for being allowed to join the Neurasmus program. The academic and research credentials of the program cannot be denied having sampled from my experiences in Goettingen and Bordeaux. Although quite demanding, I in particular enjoyed the Current Research in Neuroscience course in M2 from Bordeaux. I felt much planted and assured in my ability to at least read and draw relevant information from scientifically heavy articles, following the course. One unexpected benefit of the program was the ease with which it facilitates networking. As someone who finds social interactions sometimes very demanding, I was pleasantly surprised that by simply being active in the class, labs, and conferences and interacting with the surprisingly willing professors (who form part of a very active community of neuroscientists in both Bordeaux and Goettingen), I have inadvertently built links that I could count on for my future career as a scientist. And this network is further expanded by the Neurasmus annual meetings which I now look forward to in the upcoming years.
